We walk it first.
Untourist is an iPhone app for self-guided audio walks through New York. We build each route around one story.
Browse the walks
Start with a question, then walk.
Every neighborhood has stories that overlap. We choose one question and look for the places that can help answer it.
The route follows that story. You can listen on the street, with the place we’re talking about right in front of you.
The route has to work on foot.
We research, write, edit, and test every walk in the places where you’ll hear it. Then we return to the route to catch what a map or archive missed.
From a question to a walk.
